About the Program

Genesis by IKP is a 12-month funding and venture-building program from IKP Knowledge Park designed for founders building breakthrough deep science innovations at Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 2–3. The program helps translate laboratory research into investable and commercially viable ventures through funding, mentorship, IP strategy, regulatory guidance, and investor readiness. Selected startups receive equity funding, structured venture-building support, and hands-on engagement from IKP's in-house experts to accelerate the journey from lab to market.

Eligibility requirements

  • * Private Limited Company registered under the Companies Act, 2013
  • * Minimum 51% shareholding held by Indian citizens
  • * Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 2 or TRL 3
  • * Science-first startup with lab-dependent intellectual property
  • * Working in one of the program's focus areas
  • * LLPs and OPCs are not eligible

Selection process

  • Step 1: Online application submission through the IKP Athena Portal with a 6–7 slide pitch deck.
  • Step 2: Internal review for scientific novelty, TRL fit, IP potential, and team quality.
  • Step 3: Scientific evaluation, IP and regulatory assessment, and founder interviews.
  • Step 4: Final selection of 4–5 startups, agreement signing, first tranche release, and onboarding in September 2026.
