Innovation Voucher Program (IVP) – MGI Council for Incubation

The Innovation Voucher Program is a Tamil Nadu Government grant-in-aid scheme implemented by the Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Institute, Tamil Nadu. This application call is facilitated by the MGI Council for Incubation at Mangayarkarasi College of Arts and Science for Women, working with the college’s Entrepreneurship and Innovation Council and EDII-TN. The program helps innovators move through the Idea-to-Prototype-to-Market journey using two different vouchers.

• Applicants must fall within one of the categories identified in the current call: registered MSMEs, startups, students, aspiring entrepreneurs, or individuals and teams working on commercially promising ideas.
• The proposed project must involve an innovative idea, product, process or service.
• Startup and MSME applicants should be registered and located in Tamil Nadu.
• Applicants must be willing to co-finance the portion of the approved innovation project not covered by the government contribution.
• The applicant should not already have a contract with the selected knowledge partner for the same proposed innovation.
• Voucher A is intended for idea validation, research and prototype development.
• Voucher B is intended for validated innovations requiring product development, commercialization or market-entry support.

• Voucher A provides grant support of up to INR 3 lakhs for idea validation, research and prototype development.
• Voucher B provides grant support of up to INR 7 lakhs for commercialization of validated innovations.
• Pre-development assistance, including feasibility studies, technology audits and technical mentorship.
• Product-development support covering prototype development, testing, refinement and validation.
• Intellectual-property guidance, including assistance with patent and IP registration.
• Assistance with EDII-TN applications and the funding process.
• Commercialization support covering product design, certification, technology transfer and market entry.

• Applicants submit their information through the MGI Council for Incubation’s Google application form.
• The knowledge partner assists suitable applicants with proposal development and submission to EDII-TN.
• Applications are expected to undergo eligibility and proposal screening, followed by evaluation of the innovation, technical feasibility, scalability, commercial potential and expected impact.
• Final grant approval is made through the applicable EDII-TN state-level selection process.
