Applications are open to entrants aged 13 or older from most countries., Selected participants must attend the physical event at IIT Guwahati. Travel is not covered. Food and accommodation will be available for a participant fee that will be communicated before travel., Applicants may apply individually or in teams of two to four. Every team member must apply individually.

About the Program

Hackyard Build 2026 is a free-to-enter, 24-hour in-person hackathon taking place at IIT Guwahati on 24–25 October 2026. Participants may propose AI agents, web or mobile applications, developer tools, startup prototypes or other useful technology products. Joining the Devpost page alone does not complete the application. Applicants must also complete the official Hackyard application.

Eligibility requirements

  • Applicants must be at least 13 years old.
  • Selected builders must be available to attend IIT Guwahati on 24–25 October 2026.
  • Round one requires an idea submission rather than a finished product.
  • Selected applicants develop a working prototype during the in-person build.

  • Render platform credits and a Best Use of Render Workflows prize track.
  • Free one-year .xyz domains for the top 50 projects.

  • Award categories include Best Build, Best Use of AI, Wildcard, Real-World Build and Builder to Watch.

Open-ended technology projects, including artificial intelligence, software, web and mobile applications, developer tools, low-code products and startup prototypes.

Selection process

  • Round-one ideas are reviewed for problem relevance, innovation, feasibility, impact and execution potential.
  • Selected builders attend the physical event and create working prototypes.
  • Final judging weights are build quality 40%, problem significance 20%, ingenuity 20% and future potential 20%.
