About the Program

GENESIS Pilot 2.0 is operated by MeitY Startup Hub under the GENESIS scheme. It helps technology startups move from working prototypes to commercial deployment by supporting pilot projects with eligible corporates, government entities, PSUs, unicorns and large enterprises. The current call offers support against qualifying Pilot Purchase Orders or Work Orders. Accessible program materials describe pilot funding without a matching-fund requirement. The current application does not publicly disclose an equity claim or repayment obligation.

Eligibility requirements

  • Applicant must be a DPIIT-registered startup.
  • The startup must have an MVP or working prototype, a viable business plan and a full-time founder or co-founder.
  • The startup must hold an eligible Pilot Purchase Order or Work Order from an independent qualifying Pilot Partner.
  • The solution must be a technology-driven product in an eligible ICT, electronics or deep-technology domain.
  • The Pilot Partner generally must have at least INR 75 crore turnover in its latest audited financial year and at least five years of operations. Government entities, PSUs, Fortune 500 companies, large Indian or global corporates and unicorn startups receive preference.
  • Startups that have received TIDE 2.0 scale-up or SAMRIDH support may be ineligible under the published GENESIS Pilot conditions.

Selection process

  • Applications undergo initial screening and technical, contractual and legal due diligence.
  • Shortlisted applications proceed to centralized MeitY Startup Hub review.
  • MeitY conducts compliance, legal and financial scrutiny.
  • An expert committee evaluates the startup, pilot scope, order and deployment potential.
  • Final funding remains subject to expert recommendation, approval and authorized pilot milestones.
